Lost world of the Kalahari
14 days Safari Tour Botswana
Moremi – Okavango Delta – Nxai Pan – Central Kalahari
This safari of contrasts leads from the green water world of the Okavango Delta to the endless savannah of the Central Kalahari. The Central Kalahari is still home to a large variety of African wildlife, including predators and birds of prey.
The Moremi Park is one of Botswana’s most beautiful wildlife sanctuaries. We will go on extensive game drives through rich vegetation along the wetlands of the Okavango Delta and continue our route to Nxai Pan National Park, where giant “Baines” Baobab trees rise from the snow-white, salt covered pans. A characteristic of the Central Kalahari, one of the largest semi deserts of Africa, is the lack of natural water resources. In this vast land, only the skilled hunters, the Bushmen survived. Delia and Mark Owen had their camp in Deception Valley, where they did research on the brown hyena and wrote the well-known book, “Cry of the Kalahari”. On game drives, we will explore Sunday Pan, Leopards Pan as well as the open expanse of Pipers Pan, where not only Springbuck, Oryx, Bat eared foxes, Brown hyenas and the famous black-mane Kalahari lion is found. Due to the high seating position in our off-road vehicles, you can experience the last untouched wilderness and observe the game fantastically.
Let the endless sparkling sky and the black nights make you feel magical on this tent safari with full-board facilities.
